Oh what a poignant picture of you and your sister at your uncle's! I really like him and I could imagine being you in his hot car and in his living room eating snacks on a tray. So vivid! Thank you! He was a fascinating character. I wish I could find the photos of him joking around on the beach with his friends, living such a different version of the life I saw. Still, he seemed fulfilled at the end of his life, too.
What a cool character. If I can find it, I will send you an old newspaper article about my uncle Jackie who chased a bank robber (who was in disguise!) down the street - my uncle was the bank manager. These were such great characters.
