Thank you for all you do Cori. I love how protective of the sacred space you are and also for setting up this opportunity. I think researchers need to capture the experiences of caregivers and share that in literature so that things can change and be improved. I appreciate you setting up that space, to facilitate that connection, its a special thing to provide that in addition to all you both already do.
Thanks so much! I know so many family caregivers and professional aides are eager to share their insights with researchers, so hopefully this will help people connect with each other.
Thank you for all you do Cori. I'm very glad that you are keeping researchers and poll takers out of the private group. I know as a moderator as I read a new post request, I try to ensure there is no soliciting for funds or attempts to sell a product. It seems lately there are quite a bit more of these and I believe that means the word is spreading even further about this wonderful group. Thank for your awesome resource.
Thank you so much for the work you do as a moderator! It's so helpful in keeping the group private and a supportive space. You're right that the bigger a group gets, the more Facebook suggests it to people who might not be a good fit and the more enticing it is to marketers who want to sneak in.
Unfortunately - or fortunately, depending on one's outlook and needs - when we read an article or post about someone who is suffering, we are prone to add our "2 cents" worth of advice, when really all that is needed in response is, "I care. I am here for you." My cousin has recently been diagnosed with glioblastoma. His daughter is his sole caregiver. How I wanted to reach out and give them my help and advice. What I gave them, instead, was my support and my strength and love. And that was enough. For now. I trust that she will connect with me when the time is right for her and, until then, I check in from time to time just to say I love them.
Thank you for sharing such a wise perspective. Unsolicited advice is motivated by good intentions and often hard for the recipient to hear until they're ready.
Thank you for all you do, Cori. And thank God the support groups are sacred and protected. We need multiple spaces for multiple needs and you and Adrienne are creating just that. Thank you!
