Learning about things like this makes me think of playing SIM City as a kid. So many people in power look at their neighbors and instead of seeing their equals, they view them as characters in their game. I have no doubt they viewed themselves as fighting to build a better world. I can't say they were motivated by hate or lacked respect. The Salvation Army decided not to give support freely in order to preserve people's dignity. It's a reminder that my idea of a just world is very different from other people's visions of justice.
