*|FNAME|* I need your help
Dear ,
As you know, since Steve and Syl died that I have dedicated my time and money to create a comprehensive social network for caregivers.
Allie, Jonah and I have worked tirelessly to make it a destination site for caregivers from every walk of life, in every imaginable location and of any illnesses—from autism to Alzheimer’s; from Multiple Sclerosis to Diabetes; and so on. If you visit the site, www.thecaregiverspace.org, you will see that our work has paid off. We have a community of almost 24,000 and a reach of a quarter million people. I think Steve would be proud.
Though we have our not-for-profit status, we are still mired in the backlog of applications for charitable organization status that would make donations to our organization tax deductible. Once we get that, we will be able to apply for and receive grant money from large companies.
But, for now, I need your help to provide the kind of support that can lessen the pressures of caregiver’s lives—whether they are taking care of children with special needs, housebound diabetics or Alzheimer’s patients, to mention just a few. Our services will be free of charge to all our members.
You know that I have been supporting this initiative on my own, including paying the costs to create and maintain the site, the salaries of my amazingly talented and dedicated team, and all of the expenses that come with any business; lawyers, accountants, advertising and promotions people, etc., etc., etc. I am also donating my not inconsequential experience and talents to this cause. I will take no salary.
I know many of you have been and are caregivers, and the rest of you will most likely have your life impacted by it sooner or later, on one end or the other. For that reason, please forward this letter to your friends and family to ask for their support as well.
We recently launched a crowdfunding (a.k.a. crowdsourcing) campaign on Indiegogo in the hopes of raising $35,000. If you go to our campaign here, you will learn more about us and more about crowdfunding and why it is all the rage right now.
Clearly this is a project I believe in. At present, we are the leading caregiver site online, and we can only get bigger and better from here. Our ideas are endless.
, I ask you, from my heart, for Steve, Syl or someone you have cared for, to please give generously.
With much love and appreciation,
Adrienne Gruberg
