*|FNAME|* I need your help
Dear ,
As you probably know, since Steve and Sylvia died, I have dedicated my time and money to create a social network for caregivers.
Last November, the site went live. We have worked tirelessly to make it a destination for caregivers of all kinds, and we have almost 24,000 members and a reach of a quarter of a million people to show for our efforts. (Feel free to tour our creation at www.thecaregiverspace.org and please become a member if you haven’t already done so!) I think you’ll see why Steve would be proud.
We’ve gotten our not-for-profit status, but we are still mired in the backlog of applications for charitable organization status that would make donations tax deductible. When that happens, we will be able to receive grant money.
But now, I need your help.
Caring for Steve and Sylvia was a labor of love and I would never have been able to do it without the support I was able to find online. I am trying to make this kind of support readily available to all caregivers, of any illness, anywhere, in any financial situation—free of charge.
Up until now, I have supported this initiative, including creating and maintaining the site, paying the salaries of my two dynamic team members, Allie and Jonah, (who do the work of ten people), and I absorb all the costs involved in running any business, including legal, accounting and advertising fees. I am also donating all of my not inconsequential experience and services to this cause.
I know many of you have been caregivers. Most of you will have your life impacted by it sooner or later, on one end of it or the other.
We have recently begun a crowdfunding campaign on Indiegogo, in the hopes of raising $35,000. Crowdfunding is an idea born of need for people with great ideas who don’t have the financial capabilities to get them off the ground.
Please visit our campaign here, to find out more about us. There is a video and some very important information on our project there, so please forward this to your friends. There is usually a caregiver in need in every family.
, I ask you from my heart, and for Steve and Syl, to please give generously.
Much love,
Adrienne Gruberg
