What fuels us
I've been taking a break from reading the news and reading a book about fungi instead. One thing I found really neat is that fungi live in their food.
While we eat food and digest it inside our bodies in order to unlock the nutrients, fungi are basically digesting their surroundings and being nourished by them.
I'm not going to suggest you eat your couch, but we're nourished by our surroundings, too. A house doesn't have to be Pinterest-worthy to give you nourishment.
It's all about a comfortable spot. Something beautiful. Something inspiring. Something that reminds you of a moment of joy. Something that makes you feel connected.
Design can seem frivolous when we're dealing with life and death, but it has an impact on our days.
PS. Adrienne has been sick, so we haven't been able to decide what to do about the forums yet. If you asked for a forum login and I haven't replied, it's because we're debating pulling the plug. I know, we just brought it back! But it seems like people are pretty content using Facebook and the internet doesn't need another ghost town.
