✏ Assessing that never-ending to-do list ✅
I was reading this article on Medium about stewing in sadness and it made me wonder: Can being overwhelmed with care work be a way to avoid dealing with our feelings?
There's nothing quite like stepping in and donning the cape of Super Caregiver (or, you know, whatever title you prefer) to help us take all of those emotions that come with care work (ambiguous loss, resentment, confusion, fear, etc) and put them in a box for another day.
Until we can't stuff them back in that box anymore, no matter how busy we are.
Which could happen next week. Or thirty years from now.
Sometimes we're too busy to feel our feels because we're really too busy.
And sometimes we're too busy in order to avoid feeling the feels.
