When the solution is proof that there's a problem
Let's take a moment to imagine what it would be like to live in a world where feel-good news stories aren't about people giving up their own time off so a teacher can go to the hospital for his daughter's cancer treatment, a kid saving for two years to buy his friend a wheelchair, and the endless medical fundraising by communities around America.
Let's hope one day the US is the kind of place where it's not normal to turn to crowdfunding to pay for insulin so people don't die of a treatable condition.
PS. My grandparents were born into a world where health insurance didn't exist.
My great grandparents were born into a world where most people lived and died without ever visiting a hospital -- and medical licenses weren't required. When my great grandparents were kids, doctors who did have formal training typically had only two 16-week courses.
PPS. There's still time to sign up for my 7 week program in self care for people who are allergic to self care. It starts December 15th, doesn't involve any homework, and isn't selling you essential oils or life coaching. Oh, and it's free, as always.
