What will we be remembered for?
This week's regularly scheduled programming has been shaken up by the unexpected death of someone in my community. I hardly knew him, but I've learned a lot about him since he died the other day and I've seen how deep and wide his impact on people has been.
Some of the things people have said they will miss are the things you'd expect -- his beautiful singing voice. His joy for life. His hugs.
Other things, not so much. He was perhaps best known for mooning people. Second best for telling jokes with a certain adolescent flair.
I'm not suggesting you go out and moon a stranger, but perhaps this week we can all remember that life is supposed to be fun. Even when it's hard.
Especially when it's hard.
There's always something to laugh at, even if sometimes the joke is on you.
