Dealing with unsolicited advice
We all get unasked for advice. This can be especially frustrating when it comes to how we adjust our lives around the medical needs of a loved one.
A while back we did a video on this.
It came to mind when I was on the subway and heard someone tell a friend "thanks, but I'm not open to suggestions right now."
She said it in a totally neutral voice and the conversation moved right along, without offense. I was so impressed!
PS. Are you in North Carolina? I just arrived in Asheville and I'd love to connect with caregiving organizations.
I'd also be happy to do workshops while I'm in town. I'll be here until mid-June.
