Who cares? ⁉❔❔❔
Well over a decade ago I was with a group of friends I wanted to join and one of the women told a story where the punch line was someone’s mom looking at her excitement and asking “Who cares?”
I don’t remember the story. I’m not even certain who told it. But that phrase -- who cares? -- has stuck in my brain ever since.
Sure, this isn’t the sort of mantra that’d ever be popular on Instagram. But when I’m worried about something I’ll stop and ask myself if anyone else would care. Heck, will I care in six months? Six years?
If the answer is yes, I carry on worrying. Or, ideally, do something about it so I don’t have to worry.
Most of the time the answer is no. And I can move on with my day.
PS. Do you have a library card? Check to see if your library card gets you access to the Kanopy video streaming service. It’s like Netflix, only it’s free.
While I prefer reading paper books to ebooks and audio books, the fact that I can download digital books from the library for free wherever I am is something that makes my life so much better. You can turn whatever you're reading this on into an ereader.
