Losing yourself and finding yourself in caregivingĀ š¤
Hi ,
This past week two of us shared stories about losing ourselves in caregiving...and then finding ourselves again in an unexpected way.
After Bob lost himself in months of tirelessly caring for his wife, he found the support he needed by joining Facebook. In a time when Facebook is all over the news for some questionable things, it's nice to remember that the real purpose is to connect you to people who get you.
Abby found important companionship in her cat, Disney, after providing care to her dad and her husband. Then she faced the possibility of losing her beloved cat.
Bruce asked the world to take a second glance at the male caregivers who find themselves pushed to the margins. If you're a male caregiver, you can connect with other men who are in the same shoes in our new private Facebook group for caregiving sons.
This week we also created a new group for caregiving parents. There are a ton of parents caring for their children, as well as grandparents and siblings. Please join us on Facebook and hit 'reply' and share your story!
I hope you have a nice Monday.
PS. Here's what we're talking about in the groups this week:
