Lately I've been thinking a lot about the difficult emotions that come up as a caregiver. We know that stress can have a serious impact on your emotional and physical health. Many caregivers suffer from depression (which you can now screen yourself for online). But studies suggest that talking about these challenges and accepting them as a normal part of (caregiving) life make it easier to cope and bounce back.
Are stress, despair, grief, and other negative feelings an integral part of caregiving? Could it be possible to maintain a positive attitude all the time?
