Is there help out there? Sometimes, sort of. Here's what's worked.
Hi ,
Many caregivers want more support than they get. Lots of us don't get any support. Others get the wrong type of support or not enough to make a difference in our lives. We've been talking about how some community members have gotten support and how it actually worked out.
Where have you found support? What's worked and what's failed? Is it worth trying?
Hit 'reply' and I'll share your responses on the site over the next few weeks. I generally share these posts on Sundays, if you're keeping track. If you'd like your response to be anonymous, just let me know.
Until next week,
PS. Lots of people have asked for an affordable way to set up home surveillance systems, either to keep an eye on paid aides or to be able to leave the room while keeping an eye on their loved one. Here's an app that might help. Do you have a system like that? Add it into the comments or email me about it so we can find the best ones.
Exhaustion
I’m tired of struggling all the time. I struggle with a busy schedule…work, managing a household, taking care of kids, being available to my husband for his dialysis or any other medical needs he has.

What's your type?
Just because we're moms of special needs kids doesn't mean we have a ton in common. What kind of special needs parent are you?

Talking to kids about mental health
I was worried about talking to my son about his father's panic disorder, but since we talked he's been a big help and support to both of us.
