Greetings ,
Wheels in motion. As metaphors go, our work as caregivers can focus an any number of wheels, and this week we look at some of those workings; direct from the stream of articles on our site, (Scroll down; click away. The links and previews of selected posts fall just after this intro.)
Because healthcare is so complex these days, it's no wonder you'd need help navigating any number of channels to solve problems. As those wheels turn, consider the usefulness of having a medical advocate at your side, and on your side. That's preview number one below this intro.
Then regardless of your unique personal journey, it suffices to say that we better take care of ourselves if we're going to stay in motion. Over the weekend, @PhysEd, aka Edward Jackowski of Exude Fitness laid out the best steps caregivers can take to staying fit. Consider this the best way to keep your engine tuned and running smooth. That's preview number two below.
And without any exaggeration, "Phys Ed" is one of our most valuable resources as a community. In addition to his regular contributions to the running blog entries, he also keeps a line open at the forums... ASK PHYSED- Health & Fitness Questions Answered where your individual health and fitness questions can be addressed.
"Wheels in motion" also speaks to the number of ways we bring you inspiration and information. From our Instagram stream: filled with #caregiver #mottos & meditations to our Facebook page where you'll find most of our blog posts and care cards. Remember, if you're feeling Facebook is too public a forum to leave a comment of your true feelings, just click that Facebook post back to our site (or the original poster, as the case may be).
Lastly, there's your internal thoughts and feelings; wheels of a different sort entirely.. but you can get those in motion too with this months special Forums for The Page Listens series: Make a poem in the answer to those questions. Go ahead, connect with your fellow caregivers, and share the wealth of your experiences.

Marrying Someone With a Mental Illness Is Not an Act of Charity
I came out publicly about my diagnosis in 2015 after more than 20 years of silence and secrecy. Over the holidays, People published an article about two men who saved my life. My husband posted the article on Facebook, so many people who didn’t previously know I have schizophrenia found out.
