We're here for you - online, 24/7
Greetings ,
A belated "Happy New Year!" to the entire caregiver community.
A series of cascading technical difficulties beset our site at the end of December, and it took us til now to get things mostly resolved. Our apologies for going "radio silent" on these Weekly Digests during the last few weeks, but our focus to keep the blog posts churning never skipped a beat. Now, with things back in shape, here we are again..
As the new year unfolds before us, we continued to bring information and articles to help you manage feelings, cope with logistics, and inspire you to keep caring. To help you stay connected, to help you keep your sanity as a caregiver, to boost the connection you have to the larger caregiver community: these continue to be our resolutions into 2016. And if technical obstacles are thrown our way, our social media presence extends to all corners of the internet..
Below you find the usual links to recent posts from our site, as well as signal boosted items from our Facebook, stream. For the creative eyes, we haven't forgotten the power of both image and words: our inspirational Care Cards and other images of #FacesOfCare are what fills our Instagram stream. Join us in our social networks, and boost your voice, your POV, your life as a caregiver.
As part of your own self care, put some time aside to make a new friend - reply to or post your own story to a Forum. Go ahead, connect with your fellow caregivers.
Moving forward in the spirit of caregiving,,

When your 6-Year-Old Has become a Caregiver as Well as a Sibling
I started this blog to raise awareness mostly, about Alexander’s disease and what it’s doing to my son, Corry. But it’s also important to recognize the impact life-limiting conditions can have on other family members. My blog page is a place for my strong feelings. This particular piece is to recognize that often “the other child,” or children, from families similar to ours can be overlooked and undervalued. They don’t get the credit they deserve.
