We're here for you - online, 24/7
Hi ,
National Family Caregivers Month is on a roll. Collectively, as a movement, we garnered a Presidential Proclamation to kick off the week, and hosted a TweetChat with our friends from Caring Across Generations to keep the momentum going.
Meanwhile, it turns out that each day of the month (every day of the year...) has been assigned multiple national celebrations -- over 80 for the days of November alone -- and the month itself has over 40 additional themes: from COPD to Fun with Fondue, from Diabetes Awareness to Peanut Butter Lovers month. Clearly there's too many interests for all our attention.
As the month unfolds though, whether you're celebrating some other special day, Family Caregivers Month, or just making it happen, be sure to come back to your "home" online: the Caregiver Space. Of course, we're posting on Facebook, and Twitter to keep you fully connected, but we're also posting images designed to inspire, like the one below that got the most
s of last week's Instagram stream.
As part of your own self care, put some time aside to make a new friend - reply to or post your own story to a Forum. Go ahead, connect with your fellow caregivers.
Saluting caregivers across the ocean of dedicated work,
On the road, disabilities and all.
If you and your spouse — or your parent or your BFF or your kids — always talked about that trip you were going to take someday, disabilities don’t have to stop you from living your dreams. Sure, it takes extra planning, but there are resources and experts out there to help.

Caregiving is an emotional endeavor by its very nature. When people discuss their own caregiving experiences, or write about them, raw emotions are often shared.

What's your secret to shining
in the face of caregiver adversity?
To the parent anxious over the future of your child with autism.
Dear concerned parent,
As I look at you I see the love you have for your child.
I see the willingness to want to do the very best.
I see compassion.
I also see pain… (there's more) ;-)
