Our new site launches this weekend!
I hope you're having a nice Friday. It's been an especially busy week over at The Caregiver Space. We've been rushing to get the new website done in response to all of the problems we've been having with our current forms. It's not quite ready - you'll notice it's slow and some pages don't work well on your phone - but we're unveiling it anyway.
We're better at caregiving than we are with technology. Adrienne created this site to give caregivers a voice, so the fact that people are getting locked out of their accounts is totally unacceptable. The new site has its quirks, but the forums and the blog are working.
We're going to keep working hard to make the new site faster and easier to use. I'm sorry this has been such a tough transition, but we're confident that it'll all be worth it.
What would you like to see?
I send this out to you each Friday to share ideas, inspiration, and support. How am I doing? I'd love to learn more about what you're most interested in reading so we can do a better job of supporting you.
Falling for you
Yesterday a friend confided that she'd taken a spill and banged up her knee. I also caught this piece in the New York Times. It made me want to share this video from Ed with you. Stay safe!
Are you ready for Thanksgiving?
The holidays are stressful for a lot of us. Caregivers have to be extra careful about food safety during the holidays - there are lots of things we only cook once a year, too many cooks in the kitchen, and all sorts of potential trouble. Join our next Meals to Heal webinar to learn how to stay safe.
Looking to talk?
The chat feature will be returning to our website soon. It's really important to us that caregivers have someone to talk to any time they need to talk, day or night. If you are able to be in the chat room for caregivers who need to connect with someone who gets it, please let me know.
We've been going through some big changes over here at The Caregiver Space - and most of them haven't gone smoothly! Tell us about a time you've made a tough change and it's been worth it in the end.
Share your response on our LiveJournal community.
Are you new to LiveJournal? Here's help learning how to:
Create a LiveJournal account and getting started: One of the things we like about LiveJournal is that you can sign in using Facebook, Google, or Twitter. It’s one less account to remember!
Join a community: You’ll find us at The Caregiver Space.
Control your privacy setting: Know what you’re sharing. You can make posts public, friends-only, or totally private.
Don’t forget to find Adrienne, Jonah, and me!
Thank you for being part of our community!
As much as we've been doing our best to keep the old site up and running while we built a new site, it didn't go smoothly. I want to thank you for your incredible patience.
The new forums are much easier to use and some of you have already made the switch. Everyone will have to make a new account, but we've got step by step instructions to guide you through in the Help section.
I've been a bit overwhelmed with making the new site and I've gotten quite behind on my emails. If you've reached out to me lately, you can expect to hear back soon. I'm so grateful to be part of this amazing community and I can't wait to watch us grow stronger. You all work so hard, you deserve the best.
Until next week,
