Big news from The Caregiver Space!
I couldn’t wait to tell you that there are many big improvements coming to The Caregiver Space. Right now we’re working on rebuilding our forums and messaging system from the ground up! I know a lot of you have been having problems with the site lately, so we’re going all out to make sure it works perfectly for you. Jonah and Cori will be reaching out to you with more details on that over the next few weeks. You probably know by now that I’m really into journaling, so I’m particularly excited to announce that we’ll be launching a new journaling initiative! Here’s what’s in store:
We’re moving to LiveJournal!
If you’re not familiar with LiveJournal, it’s one of the original journaling sites on the web and is hugely popular. They offer a host of great features available to users for FREE! We’re really excited to be able to offer our community this safe space to share their thoughts, as well as a host of great new tools.
It’s easy to create and get started using an account
Here's how to get started. One of the things we love about LiveJournal is that you can sign in using Facebook, Google or Twitter. It’s one less account to remember!
Join a community: You’ll find us at The Caregiver Space.
Control your privacy settings: Know what you’re sharing. You can make posts public, friends-only, or totally private.
Besides their help pages, there’s a LiveJournal for Dummies community with a ton of helpful information to get you up and running.
Don’t forget to find Jonah, Cori, and me!
Please backup your existing journal
Your journal entries, forum posts, and messages on thecaregiverspace.org will no longer be available after October 21st. Unfortunately, this is a change we absolutely needed to make. I strongly recommend you copy and paste your existing journal entries into your new LiveJournal or a Word document.
Not sure how to log in?
Your user name is *|MMERGE3|*
Some email clients are blocking our reset password emails, so please email us directly if you need your password reset.
Once we launch the new website, you will no longer be able to access your current account.
We'll send you another email before we launch the new site to remind you to back up any journal entries, messages, or forum posts you'd like to keep.
We'll be sending you instructions on how to create a new account once the new site launches.
If you decide not to create a new account and aren't subscribed to our Weekly Digest emails, you won't hear from us again.
We’re so thrilled at all the new possibilities LiveJournal presents, that we’re expanding our journaling initiative.
We’ll be sharing weekly writing prompts
Beginning next week, we’ll be sharing a writing prompt in the Weekly Digest we send out every Friday. You can post your response to the writing post in your own journal or on our community page. If you’re not already on the list, you can sign up here!
We’ll be sharing and discussing our writing
But only if you want to! Please believe me when I say that it can be incredibly empowering to share your experiences with a supportive community. It’s amazing to read someone else’s journal entry and feel like you could have written it yourself. We’ll be sharing journals that really grab us, but we’ll be doing so in a way that respects your privacy and preferences. If you’re part of our LiveJournal community and decide to make your journal public—we might call attention to your entry.
We’re coming up with new videos
We’ve been working on new episodes of The Page Listens that we can’t wait to share with you.
I’m really looking forward to meeting more of you “on the page.” Journaling was my lifeline and we’re making it easy for it to be yours.
As always, we’re here for you.
